News: Supporting Emerging Conservators

Here at Willard, we have always been passionate about supporting the next generation of conservators and helping advance conservation training and techniques. Wherever possible, we offer our continued support and sponsorship to organisations and charities in the field and this year is no different. We have just renewed our commitment as founding corporate sponsors of the Anna Plowden Trust, and are also providing sponsorship of the West Dean College Student Prize.

As founding corporate sponsors of the Anna Plowden Trust, these funds go towards the provision of grants for conservation training; assisting both trainee and qualified conservators to enhance their skills. The Trust was established in 1998 in memory of Anna Plowden who was a pioneering conservator in the private sector. The trust supports the development of skills in conservation and also helps to raise awareness of conservation. Since being established, the trust has distributed over £700,000 in grants.

Our sponsorship of the West Dean College Student Prize will see the winner announced at the College’s Graduation Ceremony this year. Just down the road from our workshops, we have a close affiliation with West Dean College of Art and Conservation and look forward to sharing more about this in the future.
